BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:

Professional Development and Education

Improve your professional skills and expertise at AIBD's national and state conventions and seminars.

Professional Credibility

Use your AIBD affiliation to enhance you professional credibility.  AIBD's Continuing Education Policy distinguishes you as a designer committed to professional advancement.

Publications

There will now be two publications coming from AIBD.  DesignLine magazine will be published quarterly and will be targeted to Building Designers.  Read DesignLine to keep informed about the happenings in AIBD.  Articles may feature bylaws and rules suggested changes and adopted changes, featured designer profiles, explanations on the operation of AIBD, business tips, membership information, and many other pertinent topics.

Home Design Journal is a new publication and will be published annually.  HDJ will be a 100 pages or more and will be coffee table quality.  The targeted audience for HDJ will be the general public, i.e. your potential and current clients, builders, developers, etc.  AIBD needs help from its membership to make this a success.  First, the content needs to come from real-life Building Designers.  AIBD is looking for stories, articles, ideas for articles, photos, and design solutions from Building Designers.  Second, AIBD needs assistance from its membership in the distribution of this magazine.  AIBD will be happy to send copies to its members, along with "Compliments of ...." stickers for distribution to active and prospective clients.  The first issue is planned to come out in August 2003.  Contact the national office for more information.

Plan Publications

ANNUAL CONVENTION:

AIBD holds a national convention which takes place in July or August each year. Attending AIBD conventions can be your key to business success whether you're a one-person design firm or have a full staff of drafters and administrators.

Through seminars and other educational programs targeted to the needs of the design professional, you can gain a competitive edge and learn what it takes to succeed in an increasingly complex and sometimes restrictive business environment. In addition to the educational benefits, the convention brings you together with the best minds in the business for maximum networking and industry contacts.

Further details on the convention can be obtained by calling (800) 366-2423.
Don't miss this annual education/networking event for the design professional.

New Dues Policy (effective for 2003):
